I’m pleased to
inform you that we (people in CC and myself) are organizing a
developer summit about Eclipse Papyrus and the modeling
technologies at Eclipse Con Europe in the end of october
(
https://www.eclipsecon.org/europe2014/).
An important part
of this summit is dedicated to the support of modeling in a team
environment on top of EGit. For several months now, Laurent Goubet,
Axel Richard and myself (on behalf of my company Obeo, itself
contracted by Ericsson) provided several patches to EGit and JGit
to add support of logical models, symlinks and other improvements
[1]. All this work has been done towards improving support for
modeling in a team environment.
During this summit
we will talk about the issues that we are still facing and we will
discuss how every tools can be improved. We reckon that your
participation is really important in order to find solutions that
best match all projets. Moreover, it is an opportunity for you to
discover how EGit is used in the modeling community and why the
previously described improvements are important to us.
You will find
details about the summit on the following wiki page
https://wiki.eclipse.org/Papyrus/SummitEclipseConEurope2014. It
also contains a tentative agenda for the day. If you feel that you
want to present something or take part into one of the
presentations, please do not hesitate to propose something.
Moreover, if you feel that this invitation should be forwarded to
other EGit/JGit committers, please feel free to do it.
We are hoping you
will join us to make this day an important step toward major
improvements of EGit and a larger usage of it.
