Thanks Scott for providing the extra details. I was maybe too brief with "Jason Lee has been involved with
Faces (JSF) for a long time", but indeed, I meant things like those contributions.
Kind regards,
Arjan Tijms

complete statement of merit.
It sounds like the candidate is being tapped to help with
releng which does not necessarily lend itself to Git
contributions that are easily cited. Are there any pertinent
conversations on mailing lists or forum threads that you can
point to that demonstrate the candidate's familiarity with the
project?
Some more historic background for Jason is below including his
time on the (now Faces) JSF 2.0 expert group, which should be
helpful, especially when considering historic design issues (not
to say that we don't already have similar deep knowledge on the
Faces team but one more IMO is welcome :-).
While he has been away for a bit, Jason has been involved with
JSF (and Mojarra specifically) for a long time (since about 2005).
While at Sun, he worked very close with Ryan Lubke on Mojarra (the
two led the effort to give "the RI" a name, with Jason supplying
the winning name). He served on the JSF 2.0 Expert Group
(https://www.jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=314), and has led or
contributed to several open source JSF projects (e.g, Woodstock,
JSFTemplating, and Mojarra Scales). He spoke on JSF at JSFOne,
JavaOne, and other conferences as well.
A
committer election for Jason Lee on project Eclipse Mojarra
(ee4j.mojarra)
was started by Arjan Tijms with this criteria:
Jason Lee is responsible at Red Hat for the integration of
Faces and
specifically the Mojarra implementation into WildFly and
JBoss, including
overseeing the releases and running the TCK. Jason Lee has
been involved with
Faces (JSF) for a long time, and would therefor be
instrumental in helping
out with doing actual releases for the Mojarra when so
required. At the
moment there's only 1 person active for the project doing
those releases, so
any help from an experienced engineer is extremely welcome.
For these reasons and the long-term outlook for their
involvement on the
team, it is my pleasure to nominate Jason Lee as a committer
on Eclipse
Mojarra.
