Re: [ee4j-pmc] Request assistance for Eclipse Krazo

Per the process description, a project team should notify the EMO after they've submitted the IP Log for review and requested PMC approval...

However, the EMO monitors the PMC mailing lists and we generally initiate the review process when we see one of these requests (or an IP Log, whichever we're notified of first).

Strictly speaking, the process requires the approved IP Log and PMC approval a full week before the review date (the review date is actually the "end of the review" date). But we try to be as accommodating as possible.

(Sometimes, I have to add the specific comment to the bugzilla to indicate PMC's approval.  There's a hiccup in the process there...)

If you're patient enough, the EMO will do that. :-)

HTH,

Wayne

Hi Kevin,

thanks a lot for your +1. :-)

My understanding of the workflow was that the IP-Log and the Release Plan approval by the PMC should be requested in parallel and the EMO approval follows after that. But I may be wrong about the typical workflow.

When I do the MicroProfile releases, I do the EMO and PMC requests at the same time.  The PMC needs to post their +1 on the Release Review bugzilla before the EMO will approve the release.  But, as long as that gets posted before their review, I think we're good.

Thanks Kevin!

Where are the review materials?  The Release description on the project page is kind of light.  I'm assuming there's a github repo somewhere that has some material to review?  There is a reference to JSR 371 for MVC.  So, the Spec work was done via the JCP process?  And,  this is just the implementation, correct?  Is there an IP Log to review as well?

Correct, this is the RI for JSR 371. The GIT repo is here: https://github.com/eclipse-ee4j/krazo
The IP log can be found here: https://dev.eclipse.org/ipzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=21115

Also, it seems that the Release date needs to move out to allow for sufficient time for the necessary reviews.  Have you submitted the request for a release review to the EMO?

Don't we need an ok from the PMC first, then send the request for release review?

Since this is your first release, I'm just checking all the bases.  Thanks!

I am a little biased here, but +1 from me :)
