Re: [ee4j-pmc] List of official Jakarta EE specs acronyms
|
I guess "session bean" can be confused with "CDI managed session scoped bean" in that context. But what about "enterprise session bean"?
Thanks for the info, that's what I figured out by reading the wiki. My concern is with nearly 145 "EJB" occurrences in CDI spec, it will become more difficult to read.
"EJB session bean" will become "Jakarta Enterprise Bean session bean". Quite puzzling...
Hi Antoine,
Guillermo is correct.
There are no defined acronyms for Jakarta EE. We've been using
the full names when referencing the Specifications and associated projects.
Or, use the generic equivalent such as "web container"
or "enterprise beans".
One thing that
is allowed, but very few of the Specifications are utilizing, is an explicit
attribution to the acronym usage in the Specification document:
"If a specification document
(or related materials) contains references to an Oracle/JCP
acronym, include a sentence such as the following: "References in
this document to JMS refer to the Jakarta Message Service unless otherwise
noted." The sentence needs to be a legible size and should appear
early in the specification document (or related materials), not in an illegibly
small footnote. A reader should not have to scroll, turn a page, or click
a link to get to the sentence."
Here's a reference
to the guidelines: https://jakarta.ee/legal/acronym_guidelines/

Hi,
AFAIK there are no new acronyms. Long
specs like Jakarta Enterprise Beans or Jakarta Server Faces are sometimes
referred to as "enterprise beans", or "server faces",
but that's all.

I'm trying to clean the CDI spec doc
to remove the old Oracle/JCP acronyms for others specs (especially EJB)
but I can't find an official list for the new acronyms for Jakarta EE.
Thanks for your help
