Re: [ee4j-pmc] Committer Election for Jesse Gallagher on Jakarta NoSQL has started

Jesse certainly seems well-suited. It would be ideal if you could provide at least one pointer to a related contribution.

I've done some further investigation. Jesse (and Werner) are both listed on the project proposal and so are already in our queue to become committers. There's a bit of a gap in our process that should have stopped you from creating the elections for committers in this state; as an interim step, I'll ask the records keepers to make a practice of cc'ing the project lead in these cases.

AFAICT, we're waiting on Individual Working Group Participation Agreements from these individuals and others. The EMO Records team has reached out and will follow up in the coming days.

In the meantime, no further action is required from you or the project team regarding Jesse's (or Werner's) committer status. I'm going to delete this election record.

Jesse Gallagher - He is a vibrant community guy who is helping with blog, conferences and mainly code and feedbacks. He maintains the JNoSQL driver to Domino that is the server counterpart to IBM Notes and is an ancestor document-type NoSQL database. He works with IBM Domino for Darwino (the company that makes a product that's named to be an evolution of Domino).

Hey PMC.

/bcc Otavio, please join in on this discussion on the EE4J PMC mailing list.

IMHO, the merit statement in this election is insufficient.

It may well be the case that Jesse's experience with Eclipse JNoSQL will make Jesse an excellent committer for Jakarta NoSQL project, but this merit statement does not clearly state why.

Otavio, can you help the PMC better understand how Jesse's experience with Eclipse JNoSQL helps them earn a place in Jakarta NoSQL? e.g. Did Jesse develop some part of an API that will move to Jakarta NoSQL?

Thanks,

Wayne
