[ee4j-build] Notes from today's build team meeting (Mar. 14, 2017)

Arindam provide updates to GlassFish build progress -- Slaves are not provisioned on NFS yet. Bug is filed, bug is expected to be resolved by Friday. Slaves should be pinned to Eclipse farm. Work is in progress at Eclipse. GF docker build work is stalled until this is resolved.

Yamini -- Working on Openmq builds. still working on job porting. some slaves use ports which are blocked / in-use. Default ports -- Need to configure jobs to use specific ports. Need to add feature that checks if ports are in use and pick ports that are not in use. Two options seem possible for this: 1) add functionality to the build scripts that selects ports that are not in use or 2) containerize (e.g. Docker) the builds similar to the GlassFish build (though this isn't proved out yet either).

Tomas reported JSON work, nothing new (this is essentially done).

Tomas reported that Jersey builds are experiencing issues with the latest JDK. Q: Is it possible to use different (earlier) JDK versions? A: File an issue to have the specific version installed by Eclipse IT.

Reminder: If any issues are encountered and developers need assistance, file a bug to start the conversation with Eclipse IT. If they are able to solve the problem, this can happen quickly. There is no need to wait for the weekly discussion to raise questions. It's okay to file bugs, even if you aren't sure what the problem is.

Thanks,
