Hi Dave,

  The only documentation is in the bug.

  Currently, we have not scheduled any more work on this item.  The two things 
that could change that are:

1. A community member submitting a patch that addresses the concerns identified 
in the bug.
2. A large enough number of votes for the bug to bring it closer to the top of 
the priority list.
