I have two general questions about preparing our tutorial:

1) We strongly require some form of networking for our tutorial to function. Any ideas on how reliable the wifi will be? We would likely bring our own wireless router so we can create an adhoc network as a backup strategy. Is there any chance the venue and/or EF would provide something like that? While global internet access would be ideal, we can make do with a local server we run ourselves that participants can access. As an absolute last resort we will probably have a server on USB sticks so that each user can install and run their own server locally, but we'd rather avoid the hassle of this setup step if we can avoid it.

2) Snacks/breaks. Will there be any form of refreshments provided during the 3-hour tutorial block? We will obviously need to give the participants a bio-break every hour or so, and we will build this into our tutorial schedule. But, if refreshments are provided at some point we can time our break(s) to coincide with that. I should know this but I honestly can't remember what we had in previous years, apart from continental breakfast beforehand. As a tip for others who haven't done a tutorial: it's a good idea to plan breaks at the end of an exercise, so that people who don't need the break can just keep working on the exercise without feeling like their time is wasted. You can add "bonus steps" to an exercise to keep the keeners busy while the slower attendees catch up. There will usually be a wide range of experience levels in the audience - some will finish the exercise while you are introducing it, and others will still be trying to get Eclipse installed/started when the time runs out...
