Dear Eclipse community,
It is with great emotion and no little regret, that I have decided to step down from the Eclipse Project PMC.
I continue to believe that the Eclipse community is one of the best on the planet, and I still strongly believe in the vision behind it. The thing is, for the last few years, my career path has left me with little time to focus on Eclipse, and
I have realized my knowledge of Eclipse has become dated and the historical context I bring less relevant. This has led to instances over the last few months where I have found myself at odds with the Foundation or the community, and after some reflection,
I have realized I am no longer contributing enough to do the PMC role justice.
To put it simply, Eclipse has grown beyond my ability to keep up, and that is unacceptable in a leader.
I would like to thank everyone who is or has been a committer/contributor to the Eclipse Project for the great work you have done, and all that I have learned by working with you. My plan is to keep my commit rights, to let me track what’s happening
for now, and hopefully contribute more in the future — retirement isn’t *that* far away!
Peace,
McQ.
