I think what you request has already
been approved for RC4 (see pmc mailing list). However, it looks like there's
also a problem in Tycho. Jay (in cc) tried to contact Jan regarding this.

Hello,

There is a major regression in Eclipse batch compiler in the current
4.7.x branch compared to 4.7.1, which essentially breaks all users who
run on java8 and do annotation processing (more info in [1]). I'd like
