Given that we have done the testing on May 27th, we are reviewing the code changes that went into ECF 0604 and will contribute this version once we will have gained confidence in them.
Thomas Watson ---06/04/2009 05:58:53 PM---I got this information from Scott Lewis:

Re: [platform-releng-dev] Re: [eclipse-pmc] Fw: [p2-dev] Request for inclusion of new version of ECF |
I got this information from Scott Lewis:
There haven't been any changes to the file transfer bundles between yesterday and today. The changes that Pascal found were between May 27th and yesterday's builds...e.g. here's the complete list:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=278148
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=278222
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=278093
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=277958
They all went through our published review process, testing, etc.
The only change made over past 24 hours was to one of our UI bundles:
org.eclipse.ecf.ui.capabilities...to fix a problem with our own capabilities setup for Galileo:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=279007
Having the platform use today's version, rather than the version done yesterday will save us some trouble (on Monday next) for our next Galileo contribution because of the Galileo build problem.

We need to understand the nature of these changes. It is too late for us to be taking new versions of *anything* that could bust our stability or invalidate our testing.
ECF team, please elucidate.

I have compared the new contribution with the one from May 27th and have found 3 code changes in three plugins that *are* affected by the platform
ContainerFactory in org.eclipse.ecf
Activator in org.eclipse.ecf.identity
AbstractRetrieveFileTransfer org.eclipse.ecf.provider.filetransfer
>The changes in ECF do not affect the bundles used by the platform
Who do I trust? Now I'm worried.
Is there a bug report backing any of these changes? Why now?

+1
The changes in ECF do not affect the bundles used by the platform. The only reason we have to get a new contirbutuion is because the qualifiers changed. That issue will be addressed in ECF build in the future. This will be the last ECF contribution related to the platform's use.
