Eclipse "New and Noteworthy" Template

This is the template for the "New and Noteworthy" document that accompanies each Eclipse project milestone build.

Note: This template document is XHTML 1.0 Transitional. Please use the W3C XHTML Markup Validation Service to check your document's markup before submitting. This will detect screwed up HTML tags, images without an "alt" attrribute, and other tedious little details.

Platform
New Intro Theme

A new intro theme, "Slate" has been added. Slate is not the default theme for Eclipse but can be specified using the preference org.eclipse.ui.intro/INTRO_THEME. The main differences in the root page between the new theme and the two existing themes are:

  • Each link has a label.
  • The images are transparent and will display well if a background is added using an extension.
  • The page displays well at high screen resolutions.
