  • Thread-topic: Regarding Verifying Eclipse Software Packages

All,

I apologize if this is not the correct forum for this question, but I am not quite sure of the best place to turn.

In attempting to install the 06-2024 release of the Eclipse IDE for Linux (OpenSUSE Leap), I wanted to first verify the integrity of the installer using GPG. Over the course of an hour, I tried to Duck Duck Search my way to an answer with no avail. I then tried to look to see if there were any downloads (via cited Mirrors on the Eclipse download page) which supplied any armored gpg signatures, but again to no avail.

I know that the SHA512 sum is provided on the installer page at the time of download and that checksums are available for the downloadable packages as well. My question is though, why are no signed files provided with checksums for integrity checking?

Sincerely,

J
