Re: [eclipse-dev] Re: Draft Eclipse Platform 3.3 plan is available
|
Hi Matt,
I've updated the summary of https://bugs.eclipse.o
rg/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=79056 according to my previous comments in the bug
and marked it for 3.3 (time permitting).

I'd like to see more in the plan aimed at making the platform a better base
for building other tools on, specifically support for other programming
languages. This includes so called Java-like languages, such as AspectJ (my
interest), JavaScript, SQLJ, JSP, Groovy, Scala, etc, as well as more
diverse languages. Progress has been made in this area in recent releases,
and so I'd like to see this continue in 3.3.
Here are some specific bugzilla entries (I'm sure there are many more in
this area):
https://bugs.eclipse.org /bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=36939
Improve support for Java-like source files
https://bugs.eclipse.org/ bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=147432
[workspace] Better support for building non-Java projects
https://bugs.eclipse.o rg/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=147433
Expand project builder extension point to enable better support for
non-Java projects
https://bugs.eclipse.o rg/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=79056
Providing an extension point to enable other plugins to use the inplace
feature
Regards,
Matt.
