The link to the plan will be posted
to this list when it is available. The proper place to discuss compare
API issues is the platform-compare-dev mailing list. I'm not aware of the
issues you are describing. The best thing to do would be to log a bug report
for it if there is not one already.

I'd be happy to help :).

I am new to Eclipse World. Could you just indicate me where I can have
an output of the planning phase ? is it on the eclipse-dev list ? or is
there a document somewhere that sums up the project's planning ?

I will try to provide some support to the Compare API. I think it could
be extended to enable using the Compare Editor without being tied to 
CompareViewerSwitchingPanes and the double click listener that is 
introducing an incontrolled behaviour.
