start eclipse.exe with -vm <your vm goes here>

Hello Friends,
I 'm a newbie to eclipse tools.I dont know whether I'm using the right
forum to put across this question.
I've downloaded "eclipse-SDK-3_1.0-win32.zip" and could successfully
unzip the contents to a folder.
When I click on eclipse.exe , I get an error message saying "Error has
occurrred. See the log file."(Enclosing herewith
the log file).

I have Java (1.4version )installed on my desktop.
I have also downloaded "eclipse-SDK-2.1-win32.zip", which works fine, but
cannot use the same as there are some of the plug-ins that require 3.0 and
above
versions of eclipse.
Can anyone tell me whats wrong with 3.X version of downloading.?Any
settings to be made..?
Help in this regard is highly appreciated.
