Re: [eclipse-dev] Licensing for Eclipse-based Software?

Mark,

The "dev" mailing lists are for topics related to the development of Eclipse itself.  Consumers of Eclipse should use the newsgroups.  You might also look at
        http://eclipse.org/legal/main.html
Note also that legal advice obtained from the eclipse forums/website is worth what you paid for it.

Subject
[eclipse-dev] Licensing for Eclipse-based Software?

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this but it's all I saw on the Eclipse website.

With Eclipse being an open source project, what is the licensing for IDE's that are based on Eclipse?  I read the license agreement on eclipse.org and it seems that any derivative works are open source as well?  The product I'm referring to is TimeSys TimeStorm IDE (which is Eclipse based).  Can TimeSys provide a node-locked license for this?  Can I get access to the source?

Can anyone clarify?

Thanks,
Mark
