Re: [eavp-dev] [science-iwg] 2nd Science Simultaneous Release in October 2017

Jay and I discussed the simultaneous release today. Our conclusion was that we should be able to have enough functionality for a release (the refactoring of our API to remove dependencies on SWT plus at least one example of a service capable of using that API to run in a different windowing system) by the October target date. The goal is that we'll have something to present at Eclipsecon Europe anyway, and so the dates line up well. Therefore I'm giving +1 to the idea of including EAVP into the simultaneous release.

Dropping the Science list until we figure this out.

It isn't clear to me that EAVP should participate in the Science SimRel. I think we have to many loose threads and no clear develop schedule (i.e. - to get to regular releases with more than bug fixes).

I would appreciate any other thoughts. I'll talk to Robert about it this morning.

Similarly, EAVP may need a +1 over January.

However, keep in mind that Eclipse SimRel does not have +X for every
dependency (if they did I think the estimate I once saw would be 20+
days, plus infinity as there are circular dependencies!)
