Re: [e4-dev] XWT moves to Technology

The migration of all main plugins is completed. There are some plugins incomplete are not published. In fact, I used a wrong word. The migration is completed.

OK, we’ll handle the case.

Thanks

What do you mean the migration is not finished?

In bug 373668 Comment 31, you stated:

1. The moving of sources is completed including the refactoring
Bug 397504 - Define a cleaner separation between xwt snippets and tests

That sounds like "finished" to me.

History can be moved from one Eclipse project to another during a restructuring, or the creation of a new, separate project (subject only to technical limitations). The only time that we can't pull in history is with new projects taking code form non-Eclipse sources.

In this case, XWT had its own Git repository in e4. That repository should have just been moved.

Hi Lars,

The migration is not finished and the repository cannot be moved with all histories. So please keep the repository, you can remove the build stuffs. I’ll add a doc file to indicate the sources are obsolete. Any suggestions are welcome.

Hi Yves,

Congratulations that are great news.

Dies this also mean that wie should remove XWT from the e4 project, e.g. from the build and archive the XWT plug-ins from the Git repo?

Best regards, Lars

Hi all,

I’d like you give you an update of XWT.

Since early this year, we have started to move the component XWT into a standalone project under the Technology project.

http://www.eclipse.org/xwt/

We have used this transition to clean up the codes. The first release 0.10.0 is available today, which contains only the main runtime plugins

1.       XWT core (SWT/Jface, JFace Data binding)

2.       EMF Databinding

3.       Eclipse Forms

Other features will be available step by step such as the integration with e4 (CSS and workbench) .

Please feel free to address your feedback/questions in the newgroups xwt-dev and forum of this project.

Best regards

Yves YANG
