John,
The "sourceWriterExtension" problem may be related to a problem in the
plugin.xml for org.eclipse.datatools.modelbase.sql.query that I just
discovered. The extension point definition in the plugin.xml file has
<pluginJava class=
"org.eclipse.datatools.modelbase.sql.query.SQLQueryModelPlugin"/>
where it should have
<pluginJava class=
"org.eclipse.datatools.modelbase.sql.query.util.SQLQueryModelPlugin"/>
(The "util" part of the package name was missing.)
I'll check in the fix and we'll see if the problem goes away.

Brian

Thanks, Hui -- that took care of it. I'll close the bug. (There's still the
open questions about the "sourceWriterExtension", but we'll handle that
separately).
Somehow it was looking for an old connection profile that I had deleted. I
also ran eclipse with the "-clean" flag after having deleted the
.metadata/plugins folder and clearing the configuration information. Having
done this, Eclipse opened to the standard welcome page, and no driver
definitions or connection profiles were present. But, somehow it was still
looking for the old connection profile. Removing Eclipse + DTP completely
and re-installing did the trick. Any ideas about why this old value
remained behind?

Hui,
The problem occurs only on Eclipse 3.2M5a -- are you using that one or
Eclipse 3.1?

Hi John,
I can't reproduce the "cascade of errors" problem either using the
latest source code or the 3/15 nightly build. Can you please clean your
workspace and try again? If the problem still occurrs, please tell me and
I'll fix it ASAP. As to the problem: "configuration: sourceWriter in
extension-point:
org.eclipse.datatools.modelbase.sql.query.sourceWriterExtension could not
be
found.", I don't have access to modelbase project, so please assign it to
others. Thanks!
Best Regards!

The 3/15 build for DTP 0.7 RC0 is now available on the download site.
Bug Counts
----------------
> Blocking: 0
> Critical: 1
131962: While the previous problem with executing stored procs has been
fixed, a new cascade of errors now appears under 3.2M5a.
> Major: 1
131616: Consolidation of preference pages. Rob -- can you get this done
today?
Also, I have entered a bug, 131967, which currently is of "minor" severity.
Essentially, the icon for the JDBC connection profile wizard is missing. I
propose here that we fix this bug for 0.7 anyway, since (1) it should be a
simple, low risk change, and (2) although a small point, the missing icon
looks bad from a completeness perspective.
Based on this bug situation at the moment, we cannot code freeze today and
test for 0.7. I propose that we attempt to fix these bugs today, and try
for code freeze tomorrow. (This also means no branches today).
Once we get to code freeze and test to our satisfaction, we can promote the
build to 0.7. We then wait for the IP clearance from the EMO to announce
the DTP 0.7 release.
