  i don't know of any other open source debuggers except for the ruby engine that the dltk folks have written.

  activestate has no involvement with the project and not all of their debugging engines are 'free' to use. the tcl and _javascript_ debuggers fall under the komodo licenese, the perl engine falls under the artistic license, and the python and ruby engines fall under the MIT licenese.
