Fun fact: I get more mail from users about Eclipse BIRT in the EMO inbox than all other projects combined. Most of the questions are of the nature "why is BIRT broken and what are you going to do about it".
I realize that this sucks, but the Eclipse BIRT project team is missing in action. The project has not been operating according to the EDP for an embarrassingly long time. They are on my list as a candidate for termination and archival.
Fun fact: the aggrcon file is pulling from a release labeled "oxygen-interim". So I'm not even convinced that this is released code (I am, however, confident that the IP is properly accounted for).
In the meantime, AFAICT, BIRT is not listed as a user-installable feature in the simultaneous release repository, so I guess that we're not being actively hurt by it being included in the manner that it is included. Please correct me if I've missed something important.
What are our options?
Is anybody interested in stepping up to grab the reins for BIRT?
The interesting features of BIRT can be moved to another project when I finally engage in the termination review that I've been threatening for months.
MAT and PDT switch over to Eclipse SWTChart.
