Hello,

There is a major regression in Eclipse batch compiler in the current
4.7.x branch compared to 4.7.1, which essentially breaks all users who
run on java8 and do annotation processing (more info in [1]). I'd like
to ask to backport https://git.eclipse.org/r/#/c/112386/ and can propose
a change in gerrit if there is agreement to do the backport. Thank you
in advance.
