Hi all,
FYI, the TM/RSE project is considering updating from Apache Commons Net 2.2 to Commons Net 3.2 for FTP and Telnet support.
The older Commons Net is now 2.5 years old, and many bug fixes have gone into the library since.
The Commons Net 3.2 API is mostly unchanged, but we did find one regression in FTPClient#printWorkingDirectory() .
That regression was easy to work around on our side, and initial testing is going well though we haven’t yet made a final decision whether we’ll actually make the update for Kepler.
This is a heads-up for other projects to consider start testing against Commons Net 3.2 – more information here:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=408242
To consume Commons Net 3.2, use this Orbit build:
http://build.eclipse.org/orbit/committers/orbit-I/20130514212025/I20130514212025/
Don’t forget filing a “re-use from Orbit” CQ when you decide on updating.
Thanks,
Martin
