[cosmos-dev] Iteration 2 shutdown - please check in code by EOD today
|
Hi folks,
Please commit your code to the repository by EOD today so that it will be
picked up in tomorrow's "unit test" build. Saurabh will kick off the build
tomorrow morning his time, which works around to about 11 PM or midnight
our time, and he will post it to the download server so that everyone can
unit test it. The idea is that we run a very quick test to ensure that
nothing major is broken, and if we find a major break, we have until
Friday to fix it before the test pass starts next week. Saurabh will also
run the end-to-end test on tomorrow's "unit test" build. When the "unit
test" build is created, Saurabh will post a link to it on this mailing
list.
After the "unit test" build is created, please do not check in any changes
unless you have permission from your Project Lead to do so. We have
already identified a few candidate bugzillas that will be worked on after
the unit test build, hopefully to be solved before Friday's build. Those
bugzillas are the following: 259001, 260601. Any bugzilla other than those
two needs to be approved by your Project Lead.
On Friday Brad will kick off the build at the end of the day, so please
have your changes checked into the repository by 4 PM EST and Brad will
kick off the build at 4:15 PM EST.
On Monday morning we start the test pass that lasts for two weeks. During
this time we must exhaustively test the driver to ensure that it is stable
so that we can release our first COSMOS v1.1 stable driver.
Switching topics, we reviewed the Build Reports today, and I'd like to
post a reminder to all people checking code into COSMOS. Every week when
we test we need to verify the following:
* No usage of internal API outside of your own component, even within
COSMOS
* No plug-ins or features are missing About.html or other legal
information
* Copyright statements are present and correct in all files
* All strings have been externalized as the team developed
* All logging is consistent with COSMOS logging techniques
* All bugzillas that are complete have been closed
* All contributions from non-committers, if used, have been marked iplog+
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Ruth.
