DW,
Thanks
for the updates…
Rich,
Somewhere
in UG and/or DG, we should describe the following terms very clearly:
Management Domain [even though this does not live in COSMOS 1.0]
Broker
Data Manager
MDR
Data Adapter
Do
they already exist somewhere? Currently, these definitions exist in the
Glossary; however, since these are core things that any adopter would need to
know / understand, I think special attention should be paid to these…
Comments?
Thanks,
Jimmy Mohsin

As a point of clarification, a management
data repository (MDR) is defined by the CMDBf spec as any data source that
implements a CMDBf query service, and optionally registration service.
There is no requirement that SML is used, although we believe that SML
makes an excellent choice for expressing the payload of a graph query response.
Previously in COSMOS, an MDR needed to
implement the data manager interface in order to be "managed" in
COSMOS. However, I believe this requirement is being relaxed in the
future (correct?).
