Subject: RE: [cosmos-dev] IBM JRE on linux,
Dell hardware
I use IBM JVMs on
various platforms including Linux on x86 and x86-64 (but not Windows)
and I have never encountered an artificial hardware
restriction.
IBM no longer
produces hardware that runs Windows, so perhaps we should reevaluate whether we
need to test the IBM JVM for Windows if it is limited to IBM
hardware. It might save some test time if we only test Sun JVMs on
Windows and IBM JVMs on Linux.
Any thoughts or
objections?
Don

IBM JRE installs just fine on my
linux box, which is some kind of Dell
hardware.
