[cosmos-dev] COSMOS i7 components testing - regarding

Title: COSMOS i7 components testing - regarding

Limited testing of Cosmos i7 components was completed on 23rd November 2007

Builds tested: Candidate builds dated 14th November 2007 and 22nd November 2007

Testing effort: 17th November 2007 to 23rd November 2007 (2 QA members)

Tasks Accomplishment on 14th November candidate build:

1.      Identified missing components in the tested build (domain and broker were not packed as a part of this candidate build)

2.      Installation of the build was done based on the contents in http://wiki.eclipse.org/Installing_i7_Build. Installation guidelines given on this page were reworked to perfection by the author.  Thus the install instructions as given in the above page were validated.

3.      Thus testing was limited to the installation of the build components and executing the E2E scenario described in above wiki page. All of this was validated on Windows platform only (Windows XP SP2).

4.      2 bugs were registered in Bugzilla - https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=210663 (current status is verified) and https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=210667 (current status is reopened for i8).

5.      Attempted to understand the i7 ERs and created the document that is attached here. However did not complete validating the ERs themselves.

<<ERs.doc>>

6.      Ran some negative tests on the client application that caused errors however dropped reporting them after discussing with Hubert. (Client application is not a part of COSMOS and was built on a temporary basis, for i7 testing.)

Tasks Accomplishment on 22nd November candidate build:

7. Build installation and bug fix verification (210663) were done and the build was declared stable through a mail to cosmos-dev on 23rd November 2007.

Tasks not accomplished by testing team, CA (ITC Hyderabad) for i7:

1.      Unit testing on i7 components

2.      Multi platform testing

3.      ERs validation
