[cosmos-dev] SQA resourcing for i7, i8, i9

All,

I have updated the activities for the SQA resource based on our meeting.  PLEASE advise if you have any queries on the description below.  Please note that I will like to be AS specific as possible in regards to the SQA role as this role will touch MULTIPLE ERs.

From a CA perspective, we plan to have someone allocated in the near term (this is NOT a promise of a firm date); realistically, I expect this resource to be fully effective in the i8 timeframe, given the STEEP learning curve.  Given where we are today, I do NOT see this resource being fully effective for the i7 ERs, even though I list i7 below.

·         Review activities for the SQA resource for i7, i8, & i9

o        Understand the COSMOS iteration-based process

o        Understand the developmental and organizational relationship between the corporate implementations and COSMOS DC

o        Understand the COSMOS DC architecture and, specifically, as it pertains to the Leveraging CMDBf use case

o        Understand the current (and completion) state of unit testing for the COSMOS DC i7, i8, & i9 Broker, Management Domain, MDRs, and GUI Errs

o        Supplement and NOT supplant ANY of the existing SQA efforts across COSMOS DC

o        Define QA Metrics for i7, i8, & i9

o        Define the end-to-end testing deliverables for i7, i8, & i9

o        Write the test plans & test cases for COSMOS DC i7, i8, & i9 Broker, Management Domain, MDRs, and GUI ERs

o        Determine and / or confirm appropriate tooling for the COSMOS DC i7, i8, & i9

o        Note: This SQA resource will have a learning curve of AT LEAST 4 weeks before s/he is fully familiar with all the aspects of the COSMOS DC and the corporate implementations. After being on the job for about 2 months, the SQA Manager would have enough info on how to scale up the SQA team sometime EARLY 2008.
