Nearly 5000 commits to get to this stage. I want to thank all of the contributors for the effort to get to this amazing milestone.  There are contributions from nearly a dozen firms and numerous individuals. Thank you all.

There have been a few bug fixes since the last beta candidate.  Changelog is below.  We will now move to 4.0.0-rc# development cycle.
