Thanks for your response. I actually inspected the code and found that UDP connector receives multicast UDP package but simply drop it since it does not support multicast.

I may have some time later this year and I am thinking to add multicast/group communication feature to Californium based on RFC 7390.

Hi Bin,

there currently is no working support for Multicast CoAP in Californium. This currently has no priority for us, so unless someone feels the strong urge to make this working and is willing to invest time and contribute the necessary changes/extensions, I do not think that we will support this any time soon.
