It seems to work after touching the CDT entry http://download.eclipse.org/tools/cdt/releases/galileo in the "Available Software Sites". IIRC all I did was changing galileo into helios until I verified that this URL is still invalid and changed it back. Maybe the reason is a problem with the download cache? At least this is what I suspect after reading the thread http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/p2-dev/msg00970.html.
