I'm not sure where this problem truely resides ... but when I tried testing the 
Callisto Update Site for M5, currently at 

http://download.eclipse.org/callisto/staging/

The c++ stuff downloaded for a while, then said "couldn't find jdt.apt.core"
(or similar). 

I *was* using JRE 1.4.2 (both, when trying to on install C++, and when I
previously installed JDT ... from update site ... I started with only the
platform runtime binary (from a zip file), which is probably a critical part of
reproducing this ... since if JDT installed from a zip, I'm sure it would
contain the jdt.apt plugins).

So .. does CDT firmly *require* JRE 1.5 (and JDT APT)? Or ... was the some 
"requires" incorrectly stated? Could it be 'optional'?
