OK, I threw 2.5M1 away and installed 3.4 Latest Release
CDT installs OK now ...

Suggestion:
maybe the word '(beta)' shoule be included in the X.x Stream .. Build 
names on the downloads web page?

If I had seen the word 'beta' I would have tried the 'Latest release'
immediatly ..  'Stable' to me seems the opposite to 'beta', that's why I
even did not notice the 'Latest release' and went right for the 3.5M1
