Sure, just that my point is that we can't commit this patch. If anyone
wants to build against M5, they will have to apply the patch to their
personal environments.

Right, it works only in 2.1M5 and beyond. I believe you already have a
version that works for builds before that (:-). Just a stop-gap for those of
us runing 2.1 until a better mechanism using adapters can be implemented.
