[camf-dev] Update - Third Party Libraries CQ Status

The Eclipse IP team has completed the comprehensive IP review of the following 3rd-party libraries for the CAMF project. The IP team has approved their submission to Eclipse foundation repositories.


The above resolution now grants our project the right to contribute the libs to Orbit [1], which in turn will make available / distribute them as bundles.
As you know, this availability will facilitate a more streamlined build process and make way with the currently cumbersome and time-consuming Maven/Tycho build mechanism.

I have already taken the necessary steps to initiate the contribution of the libs to Orbit:

  1. Requested committer access to the Eclipse Orbit project [Voting in process]
  2. Create Bug entries for each library, requesting contribution to Orbit (#471290, #471294-301) [Completed]
  3. Converted libs to bundles with necessary naming/versioning schemes [Completed]

As soon as #1 is completed, the following tasks are due and will be completed asap:
  1. Commit the bundles to Orbit CVS repo
  2. Remove Maven nature from all plugins in CAMF Git (HEAD)
  3. Update Target platform to include Orbit repository where the above libs are located
  4. Remove any dependencies to Maven / Tyco
  5. Test build process
  6. Update installation and build instructions
