Subject: Corona / Buckminster Integration
Buckminster developers have been attending Corona’s weekly developer meetings and
proposed an idea using Corona Collaboration. The idea of using Corona to share
Buckminster information such as RMAP and CSPEC specifications across a
workgroup was suggested.
The initial thought was to treat Buckminster information as
a repository of information and to add a repository definition into Corona
Project Context Container. Project Context Container allows repositories
of information to be shared across everyone in a workgroup.
Here is link to the Corona Wiki page describes the process
on integrating a repository into the Corona
Framework http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Corona_HowTo:_Integrate_a_Repository
Buckminster would probably create a repository adapter to
access a set of files from the Corona Server and then start the existing Buckminster
materialization process. One item to keep in mind as you design your
adapter is that you can expose your repository adapter as a web service using
Corona SOA support. It may also make sense to split the existing
Buckminster plugin into two plugins one to be deployed on the Corona Server and
another for the Eclipse IDE container the Corona Client plugins. I think
Thomas mentioned that some of the version resolution processing could be time
consuming and could be shared by many people in a workgroup. Once the
version resolution process was complete a Container event could be sent
notifying workgroup clients a new “Bill of Materials” was ready
If you have questions please post them to the corona-dev@xxxxxxxxxxx this mail list
is actively monitored by myself and Dennis O’Flynn. I will not be
working the week of 12/24/2006 but Dennis will be in Wednesday through the end
of the week.
Happy Holidays
