Hi Steven,
in behalf of the Automotive PMC I would like to highlight some expectations we have on committer and project lead nominations to do our
work properly.
We have a look on 2 major things regarding nominations:
- the contributions
- the nomination itself
- is the nomination convincing and are the necessary information like GitHub /
GitLab handle and the important contributions linked in the nomination.
This helps us to find the necessary footprint and to rate.
In Greg’s nomination is just his GitHub handle linked and we have to investigate by ourselves, if we can approve or not.
This took us some hours to find the his track record.
So please include by the next nomination our expected information.
Here is also a link to the EF project handbook, especially to committer elections:
https://www.eclipse.org/projects/handbook/#elections-committer
Here an extract:
What Should a Nomination Look Like?
A committer nomination should explain the candidate’s contributions to the project and thus why they should be elected as a committer.
Cite the issues they have fixed via patches; cite the community forum postings they have answered; cite the
dev-list design discussions to which they have contributed; etc.
In all cases, provide URLs to source material.
Next time w/o the information it could happen that we do not approve due to the missing information.
As I have it right in mind, we gave in the past also the hints.
If you like, I can give you a good example and / or assist in the next nomination.
I hope this helps.
Best,
Andy
P.S: +1 will follow
Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards
