Hi Andreas,

 

This is a good question -- I asked it myself. 

To my understanding, the project develops an extension to systemd, which is under the GPLv2. Hence the constraint. 

Then my assumption is that for most projects, using Hirte on top of systemd should not be an issue, since most of the system tools are already under the GPLv2.

 

That said, if needed we might just ask Jefro (the submitter of the proposal) and have this discussion publicly on the ticket.

Project Description: Eclipse Hirte is a simple extension to systemd that allows management of services across multiple nodes. It relies on systemd services as an abstraction layer, thus being agnostic to how the process is run by systemd ("classic" application or containerized application, or anything else…).
