Dear Helko,
thanks for the input. Actually, during the meetings of the Auto-IWG,
we used the meetings to discuss overlaps between different projects,
so the synergies between Safe, IMES and others is one of the points
of discussions that we had.
Using an UML profile is one approach to implement some tooling, but
a native EMF implementation, as intended by IMES or EATOP is
preferred by some parties.
Best Regards,
Andreas

Dear Andreas, Others,
I don't know if I remeber correctly, but in the ATESST2
project where we defined the EAST-ADL2 language the project
member CEA LIST from France (Paris) was responsible for creating
an appropriate EMF based UML profile for the EAST-ADL2 language.
In doing so, also relationships to other profiles such as SysML
or MARTE etc. has been introduced technically.
Perhaps you can reuse some of that technical solutions? It's
main intention is to get EAST-ADL support fur the Eclipse based
Papyrus UML Modeling framework.
In the ongoing EU project MAENAD, project members also
implement end user modeling tools for EAST-ADL. And the EATOP
project will also provide a technical (EMF?) basis for EAST-ADL
based end user modeling tools.
Isn't it an overlapping benefit in compare to your planned
outputs, also getting an EMF basis for EAST-ADL?

Dear all,
it is good to see the activities in the work packages. In
addition,
there will be some more activity in WP4. As mentioned before,
there are
several sponsored research projects dealing
with safety and we try to coordinate the activities.
From itemis side, we plan to implement parts of the EAST-ADL
meta-model
as native EMF models. This will start with the functional
architecture
and, depending on resource availablity,
we would like to implement parts of the safety-relevant
sections of
EAST-ADL.
In addition, we will be migrating our Graphiti based editor
for
functional architectures from our current meta-model to the
EAST-ADL model.
So, if anybody is interested in that activity, please don't
hesitate to
contact me for coordination of possible activities.
Best Regards,
Andreas
