Re: [aperi-dev] Problems and doubts about Aperi SRM and San Simulator
|
Hi Amudhan,
This is described in the Aperi Users
Guide. Switches are added via the out-of-band method (SNMP).
Follow the link for the Aperi User's
Guide (PDF or HTML) from http://www.eclipse.org/aperi/documentation/
Section Viewing and Managing Agents
-> Out-of-band agents
Ramani might correct me, but I don't
think the SAN Simulator supports out-of-band discovery for simulated switches.

Hi Ramani,
In that case CIMOM discovery is not yet supported by Aperi SRM, is there
any other way or protocol by which a switch could be discovered\probed
by Aperi SRM?
Thanks and Regards,
Amudhan.

What should I do to discover a simulated >(configuration based) switch?
You can not discover/probe fabric CIMOM from Aperi SRM.
This feature is not
available in the current release of Aperi SRM.

Hi Ramani,
Also, I think the documentation about the schema of the database is not
in
sync with actual schema. Have any changes been made in the schema? If so,
where can I find the latest schema? I saw the actual table
T_RES_STORAGE_VOLUME and other tables in the Derby database, but they were
not having the exact columns mentioned in the document, some of the
mentioned columns were not present. Please clarify my doubts.
Also, thanks to Pallavi for clarifying my doubts, I am now clear about
the
two questions I asked.
Thanks and Regards,
Amudhan.
