Re: [aperi-dev] integrate other storage boxes
|
I would disagree that the only storage
boxes known to Aperi are IBM boxes.
Any storage box that has an SMI-S provider
that is compliant with (passed CTP) SNIA Disk Array Management (SMI-S:
1.1.0) and Disk Array Discovery (SMI-S: 1.0.2) is theoretically manageable
with Aperi. It's just a matter of testing.
If such a compliant SMI-S provider doesn't
exist the cost of development is considerable, but not unrealistic for
small to medium size institutions.
HDS has such SMI-S providers. See http://www.snia.org/forums/smi/tech_programs/ctp/conformingproviders/hitachi/

| [aperi-dev] integrate other storage
boxes |

Hi all,
I've noticed that only IBM storage boxes are known to Aperi.
is it possible to include other vendors (I am thinking about HDS tagmastor)?
what is the effort to do so and is there a cost to interface with
HDS's HiCommand (licensed api?)
thank
Selim
