The Adoptium Working Group Charter identifies the Steering Committee will drive the various facets of the working group for which there are elected positions to be filled.
The Enterprise member and the Participant member have been elected by acclamation as per the Open Steering Committee Meeting call held on March 25, 2021. Welcome to IBM (Enterprise) and New Relic (Participant)!
Through this email, we are announcing the Eclipse Foundation will hold an election on behalf of the working group using the proposed timetable listed below as per the Steering Committee’s request to fill the Committer Member seat. This mimics the process used by other working groups as well as the Eclipse Foundation itself for filling elected positions on our Board.
All members are encouraged to consider nominating a Committer Member for the position, and self-nominations are more than welcome! Nominations should be sent to this mailing list with the subject line of “Adoptium Working Group Steering Committee - Committer Member Election”. More information regarding the definition of Committer Member can be read here. If you are unsure if you are eligible, please reach out to the undersigned.
Once nominations are closed, we will inform the working group of the confirmed candidates providing a short bio for each along with their position statement. At that point, we will distribute ballots via email to those eligible to vote. The Eclipse Foundation uses a third-party system for this effort. The election process will follow the Eclipse “Single Transferable Vote” method, as defined in the Eclipse Bylaws.
The winning candidate will be announced on this mailing list following the close of the election.
Election Schedule:
March 30 - April 7: Call for Nominations (self nominations are welcome)
April 12 - 16: Announce Candidates Standing (with short bio)
April 19 - 23: Ballots Created/Sent
April 26: Announce Committer Member Representative
