Hi,
I just wonder, how it is possible to print from eclipse under linux. I
remember to have read somewhere that xprint has to be installed to
acchieve this. But I _have_ xprint installed and the print button
remains disabled.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks

Hi Christian,
It is possible to print from Eclipse under Linux. Can you print from other
applications? Xprint (or Xprt) is a module that you will need, along with
either CUPS or LPRing. Consult your Linux distribution's documentation to learn
how to setup your printer.

Hi Mathew,
printing from other applications works just fine (I have CUPS
installed). Eeven printing from mozilla is not a problem any longer
thank to the fact that I have the xprint-modules installed.
But still all the Print-Options in Eclipse remain disabled.
Are there any settings I have to edit?
Hope you can help again.

Printing on Linux-GTK is not supported. If you just want to print files, you
can do it by configuring an external tool that does command-line printing
with the selected resource as an argument.
I know this has been done, but I don't have a copy of the external tool nor
do I know how to print from the command line off hand. If I wanted to set
this up, I'd probably start with "man lpr". :-)
