Hello,

I have a simple chart, amount per item (see attached chart1.jpg).
Chart1.jpg shows the chart I got from BIRT using the chart wizard.

But I want to have a different color for each bar (each item A, B and C) as
shown in chart2.jpg (colors changed by an imaging program)
Using the wizard I can only modify color for different series (under
Y-Series within the chart wizard).
But in my chart I have only one serie. I did not find any way to color
single bars in my chart on only one serie.

How can I achieve this?

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

Go to Layout->Legend screen in the chart builder, and choose 'Categories'
under Item Type. That will color the chart by categories, and the legend
will change accordingly.

We have changed the position and name of this setting in the new builder for
BIRT 2.0, so it will be easier to find.

Thanks,

David

If you don't mind my asking, how'd you get the column counts to "float"
over the columns themselves? I can't seem to find that option.

Its under the chart builder Attributes-->Y Series-->Labels

And then there is an option visible.

Hope that helps!
