Hello Jason.
What we need is reports data output filtering corresponding to the groups in AD.
Example with boss and employee looking at the same report, but getting data related to their position (Employee sees only his/hers data, boss sees everything), or management in US receives only data related to US sales and management in Europe gets European sales. Data coming from the same db and from the same run of the report.
Thank you Jason.

Is the data secured by a column with user or by connection? Open Source
BIRT does not have a direct integration with AD, but you may be able to
call it from java using something like what is described here:
http://www.myhomepageindia.com/index.php/2009/09/16/active-directory-access-authentication-using-ldap-and-java.html
You could call it in the beforeOpen script of your dataset and then use
the returned information in your query, or the beforeOpen script of your
data source and use the information in your data source. BTW Actuate
has integration with Active Directory if you are interested in a
commercial application.
