Buckminster Emma debugging & excludes [message #705048]

I have the following in my Buckminster log file:

!MESSAGE Process /.../java (Jul 29, 2011 12:52:06 PM) terminated with exit status 1.

This is with Buckminster log level set to "debug". The Hudson console shows the same two messages with no additional output. Is there any log file than I can look at to gain further info why the process exits?

Second questions, how to I pass package patterns to exclude to Emma?
