I posted a bug (Bug 38854).

What will happen now?

I don't understand the web page which shows my posted bug. It seems that
nothing happens.

Hans, bugs don't fix themselves - somebody must fix them.
you'll get an email from bugzilla then

If you successfully reported the bug, then you will see people
sorting and discussing your bug and in a certain time
(depends on the priority) you will receive a bug closed
message. All changes of the bug's properties and notes etc.
will be send to you via email.

Why is it assigned to Erich Gamma?

Why not? He's a developer on the JDT team and the JUnit stuff happens to be
in his domain of expertise :) Would you prefer to tackle the source and fix
the bug yourself? Feel free to dig in and contribute a patch!

I just wondered because it was assigned to the one who manages the whole
Eclipse project. But you explained me why.

I cannot fix the bug since I don't know anything about writing plugins.

Hi Hans,

actually I'm just one of the Eclipse PMC members, so I'm not alone.
We still make our hands dirty and all Eclipse PMCs members also have a part
time
development job.
