I was wondering if someone(s) could point me in the right direction as to
where to look to import files into workspace from an external plug-in. I am
coding a version control system, and upon checkout I need to import the
files into the default workspace. Thanks for everything.

You could use the Import existing plugin function in Eclipse.

One point is that plugin MUST be under workspace to work fine
(dependencies). This is not the case for 'standard' projects.
