i'm new to the wtp and i tried to install the plugins into the eclipse
3.1 M4 realease via the Software Updates->Find and Install function.
I successfully installed the plugins of the following "requirements"
archives:
- emf-sdo-xsd-SDK-I200412160800.zip
- GEF-SDK-I20041216.zip
- JEM-runtime-1.0.2.zip (also with some license problems)
After I installed these plugin, i tried to install the others:
- wtp
- wtp-wst
In both cases i'm not allowed to install the plugins because of the
following cases:
- J2EE Standard Tools Feature (1.0.0) does not have a valid license
agreement.
- Web Standard Tools Feature (1.0.0) does not have a valid license
agreement.
- Web Standard Tools Feature (1.0.0) does not have a valid license
agreement.
Maybe this is a newbie problem, but i don't really know how to install
this license :-( It would be cool if someone could post me a helpful
link or something else.

Not really a newbie problem ... we haven not completed our "update manager" work
(planned for next milestone, I believe).
To overcome this, do what you did above, then just unzip the wtp download "on top"
of that install. [The "top level" starts with 'eclipse' directory].
You don't need wtp-wst seperately, wtp contains both wst and jst (wst is to be used
when clients/users don't want/need the jst features.
Once you do this, you *might* have to start eclipse with the -clean option (probably not,
but thought I'd mention it incase you continue to have trouble).
Of course, with this, or any other project's early milestones, its best to install all this
in a dev. env. that's sepertate from any of your primary "production" dev. env.

Stupid question.. you mean unzip the wtp-wst-sdk-1.0m2.zip file
at say C:\eclipse\? Or C:\?

the way you told me, David, worked to install wtp correctly.
You can use the update manager to copy the required plugins of the
following archives:
1) emf-sdo-xsd-SDK-I200412160800.zip
2) GEF-SDK-I20041216.zip
3) JEM-runtime-1.0.2.zip (works, if you just cross the last 2 items (of 3))
4) Then copy the folders of the "plugins" folder of the archive
"wtp-1.0M2.zip" into the plugins folder of your eclipse plugins folder.
This way worked for me. I even hadn't to start eclipse with the -clean
option.
